About Fu Garden

Fu Garden is a chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is listed at 2030 Lake Michigan Dr NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504, which places it among the local businesses of Grand Rapids that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Google also lists it under asian restaurant, restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Grand Rapids; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Michigan are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Fu Garden at (616) 791-7420; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, fugarden.weebly.com.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 258 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Grand Rapids is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. The best lunch spot of all time! You cant beat a full lunch portion including a sofa for 6.50$. Been eating here since the first day they opened back in 2009? and I moved to Texas. But every time I come back to Michigan. I have to stop here even with almost 2 hours drive. This place will always have a special place in my heat. The owner is also super friendly and nice :)

I don't come here often because its a ways away from where we live. That being said, I do get a chance to come here when I am in this part of town, and I have to say I really like this place. The sweet and sour soup as well as the eggdrop soup are both delicious. I typically get the chicken with vegetables and my wife gets the pork fried rice. Both dishes are very good and the portions are large. I am always very satisfied with my food. Highly recommended!

I got the Mongolian beef. Rice was a bit overcooked, but the entre had good flavor. Decent portion size and affordable pricing compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Overall not too bad, but definitely not the best Chinese food I've ever had.

Ordered from here for the first time because it was such a cheap price, but I'm probably not going to return. The crab rangoon was the only thing that was good but the shrimp mei fun was terrible. The noodles had no flavor except the weird taste from the abundance of raw giant chunks of onion. It was not eaten. The pepper steak was not terrible but it was basically meat smothered in a brown gravy which was not what I expected for pepper steak. Yeah it was enough food for multiple meals, but if you don't want to eat it then it doesn't really count.

My recent takeout experience was absolutely fantastic! I ordered the vegetable lo mein and the General Tso's chicken combination plate, and both dishes were incredibly delicious and exactly what I was hoping for. As a big fan of Chinese takeout, I can confidently say this place did not disappoint. The flavors were spot on, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. What truly impressed me, though, was the lightning-fast service. My order was ready in a mere 5 to 10 minutes, which is remarkable! It's always a bonus when you can get your delicious food so quickly, especially when you're hungry. This spot definitely delivers on both taste and efficiency. I highly recommend it if you're looking for quality Chinese takeout anywhere around the area.
